Roofing Felt

Scrim

Background
A light weight, loosely woven hessian, jute scrim is used as the membrane in the formation of bitumenised roofing felt. Woven in Indian jute mills, the 4000 - 6000 metre rolls are containerised and supplied to the U.K. where roofing felt producers further process, and convert the hessian into roofing felt.
Good News Fact
Despite competition from various man-made fabrics, jute scrim roofing felt (named 1F in the trade) retains the highest market share.
Additional Demand
A lesser, but significant, outlet for jute scrim is for use as plasterers scrim. Rolls x 200 metres are continually in demand by builders merchants.

We supply in the sizes above and also to specific alternative roll lengths
